Lenders, It’s Time to Get with the Program
The lender approval process for The TDHCA Homebuyer Program is a shared process between the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs and our Master Servicer, The Money Source (TMS).
Lenders interested in participating in the TDHCA Homebuyer Program as a correspondent lender are required to complete and submit a Lender Application Packet, complete required Lender and Portal training, as well as be a participating lender with TDHCA Master Servicer, The Money Source (TMS). If you are currently not approved as a participating lender with the Money Source (TMS) we will help you submit a request for application.
To be accepted into the TDHCA Homebuyer Program, Qualified Correspondent Lenders must be either:
- a Federal Housing Administration (FHA) approved;
- Fannie Mae (FNMA) or Freddie Mac (FMHLC) approved;
- an eligible lender in good standing for Veteran’s Administration (VA); or
an eligible lender in good standing for Rural Housing Service’s (RHS) guaranteed rural housing loan program
and
- Agree to originate mortgage and assign mortgage and servicing to the Master Servicer
- Originate, process, underwrite, close and fund originated loans in your own name
- Must be approved/active Seller/Servicer with programs Master Servicer

Lender Training and Support
Only lenders that have completed required program training available through the Lender Video Library can offer our programs to qualifying borrowers.
